Michigan born, Chicago R&B bred.
Bailey is an accomplished working musician, who uses her chops not only in her instrumental playing but in her powerful voice, reminiscent of Big Mama Thornton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and Janis Joplin. You can find her as a cellist in the award winning Jonas Friddle and The Majority, and commanding her own group Bailey Dee and her Late Night Bait as a vocalist and guitar player.
Live, the Late Night Bait is always filled with an electric energy that cannot be contained. The band features Jason Larsen and Tony “The Face” Bryan (guitar and sax for local Chicago R&B legend Andre Williams). jazz drummer Tommy Lowery, and bassist Jesse Woelfel (Chris Casello, ex Chicago’s “Million Dollar Quartet”).
They keep the party going with their charming banter, impressive song selection and moving stage show; a perfect balance of modern and vintage tastes for everyone in the room. A never ceasing ball of energy, Bailey commands the room and stage wielding her guitar like it’s an extension of her, all while flashing her big smile, bringing you into hers and your, very own good time. Don’t size her up just by looking at her, you’ve gotta see it to believe it.
