Miss Sweetfeet

I’m so sweet, I’ll give you cavities!

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Miss Sweetfeet is a woman on the go. For the last 6 years, Miss Sweetfeet has been volunteering with Urban Arts organization Kuumba Lynx, where she continues to teach the art of breakdancing. With a 10 year history of “breaking”, Miss Sweetfeet has surely danced up a storm throughout the Chicagoland area. She is also an honored member of Miss Sophia Wolff’s jive troupe. You can catch her feet strolling, bopping, and jiving all over town. Miss Sweetfeet keeps those feet a’movin’. In addition to dancing, you can spot her cruising with her run group 3run2. This lady has high hopes to run her first half marathon. Try to catch her if you can!

What got you interested in pin-up culture?

I grew up in a nostalgic town, in a house that was a fifties time capsule. Black and white films, listening to oldies, and cruise nights were daily life. I became involved in the Lowrider/Import community. I was inspired by the “pinups” in the scene. Thus, influencing my love affair with all things vintage.

Do you have any hobbies?

Reading, watching kung-fu & classic horror movies,  pillaging for vintage treasures, running, dancing, and graveyard exploring.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

My father always tells me when he came to this country they told him “don’t drink the water, only drink the beer”! Best advice ever.
